And the Beat Goes On

The Harbour Mysteries

Published 2022

When you first see Sydney Harbour - from the deck of a ship or from high overhead in a plane - you'll be stunned by its beauty. "The finest harbour in the world" it's often called. Adding to the natural beauty are the icons: the Bridge, the Opera House, and bang in the middle of the harbour itself, Pinchgut Island. But peel back that postcard-pretty surface layer and there you'll find murder and mayhem, past and present.

For example:

The Body in the Bridge. Whose body? How did it get there? And when? Join retired teacher Bax, her former student Lauren - now a policewoman - and Sydney Morning Herald investigative journalist Kate McClymont as they delve into the murky underworld of the "other Sydney" of the 1920s and 1930s.

The Pinchgut Paradox. The island in the Harbour with a grisly convict past is the present-day setting for an attempted murder. Who is the target? And why? Bax is back, with Jeremy, another former student, and Charles, a retired barrister, as they confront more red herrings than there are sharks in the waters
surrounding Pinchgut.
